[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Permalinks with Buddypress problem

WordPress and Buddypress are up to date.
What’s happening is when someone creates a forum post in a group on Buddypress, the permalink comes out entirely wrong. This also happens if someone replies to the post (even if the permalink for the post was correct before the reply, it comes out broken after).
It should come out as:
https://site.com/groups/group-name/forum/topic/this-is-the-topic-title/
But it comes out like this:
https://site.com/forums/topic/this-is-the-topic-title/
If I empty all caches it fixes the problem. If I uninstall W3 Total Cache, this doesn’t happen. Its kind of driving me insane, I’ve exhausted all my own troubleshooting, and not sure how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated!
