    I get this error:

“Page caching is not available: /public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php is not installed. Either the /public_html/wp-content directory is not write-able or another caching plugin installed. This error message will automatically disappear once the change is successfully made.”

But the directory is writable and there is no other caching plugin installed!

Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Not enough info. Is the directory 777 writable? If it is, have you tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling it?

What webserver do you use? Is it a shared hosting account or is it a VPS/Dedicated server?

Also, has the plugin been working for a while and now isn’t working or is this a new install of the plugin? Or possibly an upgrade?

    Thanks.

The plugin had trouble adding the drop-ins so that it could actually perform caching operations. Can you try the installation process again or copy the files from wp-content folder inside the w3-total-cache plugin folder to your WP installation’s wp-content installation?
