[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] iPad coming up as mobile when W3TC active

    I’ve run in to an issue and am at a loss as what I’m doing wrong. I have a WP site with W3TC and Crowd Favorite’s Mobile wordpress plugin. I’m trying to get my site to let iPads view the site in regular mode and not mobile mode… Every time I check on an iPad I see mobile mode with the Carrington theme. The only thing that seems to work is deactiving W3TC which is not an option.

    Things I’ve done… to try to fix.

    • Added ipad to rejected agents on CDN,PAGE & MINIFY options.
    • Deleted (moved) all plugins EXCEPT for W3TC. Crowd Fav. plugin is not even in plugins directory and still iPads keep pulling up this theme when W3TC is active. Deactivate W3TC and iPads show the site in regular mode ??
    • Installed a different mobile plugin (WPTouch). Now iPods & Droids show that mobile theme while iPads still show Carrington moble.

    You do not need to modify the default settings in order to return a mobile theme if you’re using a mobile plugin designed to do that for you. Can you restore the defaults and then use a mobile plugin and test again. Everything should work fine out of the box.

    Hi Frederick…

    Just clicked the reset button on W3 and still get the mobile version of the site on the iPad. If I deactivate W3 then it works correctly. Very strange. Going to dump this install of WordPress and start over.

    Why not just remove Ipad from the user groups list. Make your ipad is not showing a cached page?

    @klark0 yes that did work… i picked up a list of mobile devices and found iPad in there.
