• Hi there, we have a website which will be experiencing high traffic in the month of June.

To prepare, we’ve installed APC, Memcached, and Varnish on our Apache server. We’re also using CloudFlare.

I have this plugin installed, but I’m not sure if I need it? If I already have all of those things caching, what advantage does this plugin give me?

    Thanks!

It depends on what you want to do, but one thing that W3TC can do that no other performance plugins do is “optimize for the cache miss” – if you have an active site or lots of users / traffic you will not always have every page cached, so W3TC helps you with that. Furthermore, W3TC creates caches for user agents, referrers and helps you optimize browser cache. It also manages varnish for you. I could go on, but the point is simple, since it also helps you manage cloudflare as well, it’s the framework you need if you care about user experience (site performance).
