[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] can't get cache priming to work

Using W3TC with APC page caching and am using the google sitemaps plugin, but cache priming doesnt seem to work. On testing, the first few pages on the sitemap dont seem to get cached until they are actually visited. Is there some way to tell via debugging whether this is working or not? Thanks!
