[Plugin: Viper's Video Quicktags] Video doesn't embed, only image with link

  • I’ve been using this plugin for some time and it worked perfectly but recently, I don’t know when exactly, instead of embedding videos from YouTube, just the image of the video appears and clicking on it takes you to YouTube to view it.

    Appreciate advice on how to fix this so the actual video is embedded.

  • Yup, this exact same thing happens to me as well. Vimeo videos work, but embedding a YouTube video simply shows an image that is linked to the actual YouTube video.

    I’m guessing that YouTube recently changed something?

    Nope, I’ve given up on Viper’s and just trashed it. I use Smart YouTube which covers most videos for me since they’re mostly YouTube. Otherwise, I just paste the embed code from other sites.

    That’s what I just did too (install smart youtube). I do miss Viper’s handy tnyMCE buttons…
