    You can certainly make thumbnails using shared hosting as long as your host has ffmpeg installed. But there is no software I’m aware of that is installed on most hosts that can make thumbnails from videos. If there was, I would use that.

    I just tested thumbnail generation with a file called 香港.mp4 and it worked fine on my server using the latest version of the plugin.
