[Plugin: User Role Editor] user_can returns true AND false

  • Hi

    I’m using WP 3.3.2, user role plugin 3.7.1.

    I’ve set up edit_comment for Editor role using user role plugin.

    I can edit remove etc comment via dashboard comment box. I cannot see edit remove etc links in comments tab in admin.

    I can edit and save comment using link from dashboard.

    I’ve dumped current_user_can(‘edit_comment’) and on dashboard it returns TRUE, on commnets tabl it returns FALSE.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Key capabilities for comments moderation at comment tab in admin is ‘edit_posts’ or ‘edit_others_posts’, that is can you edit commented post or not.
    Look into map_meta_cap() function at wp-includes/capabilities.php
