[Plugin: User Registration Aide] 2 Problems – Logo & New Fields

    I’ve successfully installed User Registration Aide, and have gotten it to register new users. However, I have two issues.
    1. So far, I am unable to add my own logo. I have set Show Custom Logo to Yes, Change Custom Logo Link to Yes, and have put in a URL to my logo graphic. The png file is located under my theme/images directory. Is that an issue?
    2. I am able to send my new user info to Aweber using the Aweber Web Form plugin, but it doesn’t seem to be sending the first and last name. I believe that I need to send the fields as awf_first and awf_last. Is there any way to change either what meta tags your first_name, last_name fields save, or can I change the prompts on new fields to be First Name, Last Name. If I do that, I need to be able to order them correctly, which I believe you’re working on as an enhancement.

    Hopefully, this all makes sense. I’m a pretty new to all things WP, but I’m making progress. I’ll keep working while waiting for your reply.

    I tried uploading an image to my theme/images folder too and tested it on my test machine and it did not work either for me. I uploaded mine into the media library and then clicked edit and copied the link and used that for the url and have had no issues with it. It may have to do with security or some other similar issue. If you can just upload it to your media library and then it should work fine. As for the first and last names, those are actually derived from the user profile fields originally contained in WordPress, and those are nothing new, however the plugin gives you the option to add them to the registration form. Those fields cannot be changed, or should not be changed as it may screw up the WordPress core, and we don’t want to do that. As for changing the names, I do have a suggestion though, as you have the option to add new fields, you can create two new fields with awf_first and awf_last as the key names and for the values, or the text the user sees maybe Frst Name and Lst Name or something similar but not the original First Name or Last Name that is included in WordPress, as that may create a conflict at some point and create more issues than it is worth so I would avoid doing that if at all possible.     Thanks for the very quick response!

    Putting my logo in the media library, and using that for the URL did the trick!

    I’m still working on the AWeber problem. I’ve contacted them for suggestions as well.

    I’ll post progress as I make it.

    If I may, I have a few suggestions for your excellent plugin.
    1. Some basic documentation beyond the screen prompts. Or, enhanced screen prompts. For example, the logo information could be explained a little better. It also took me a lot of poking around to realize that I needed to use the url <mysite.com>/wp-login.php?action=register to get the registration form to show up in it’s own window.
    2. Is there a way to get the registration form to appear as a normal blog page?
    3. Is there anything that you can do to give us some flexibility in laying out the registration form to match our blog style?

    Again, thanks for the input. I am fairly new to doing plugins as formerly I was doing more SharePoint and VB, and haven’t done much coding for awhile, and PHP is still fairly new to me, so I may be a little rusty but it is coming back to me each and every time I code. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions, and there will be more upgrades in the future, and I will for sure work on documentation better as well. Keep checking back as I will continue to improve on this, and have some other ideas as well. Thanks for the support!
