[Plugin: User Meta] Register in menu – can it be removed/pointed to custom registration screen?

Have successfully created a custom profile and registration form to be used for a membership database behind a public/members only site – currently only in testing mode.
Is there any way the “Register” link can be removed from the Meta data menu ?
OR make it go to the registration aka application to join screen?
