[Plugin: User Access Manager] File Locking option causes download mime type to be 'text'
-
Great plugin – flexible and does exactly what I need it to do… with one exception. If I enable File Locking (either Normal or fopen) then all the protected files are reported to be “text files” when open via browsing the site.
This seems to happen in non-IE browsers but I have had reports of it happening in IE for some users. The file is not corrupt (if I choose to “download” vs. “open” I can run the file locally fine) but users are confused when they see, for example, a PPT file reported as a text file (and the browser doesn’t auto-associate it with PowerPoint etc.).
If I turn off File Locking, and click the same link, the file reports correctly that it is a PPT and opens with PowerPoint, so I know it’s not a server Mime Type issue. It looks like when the file is passed through the .htaccess to UAM, it’s not reporting the right type when the download prompt pops up.
Any ideas? I’m using WP 3.1.2 and the latest UAM (1.1.4) – any help would be great!
