Just noticed recently – across multiple client sites using the same theme, architecture, WP version (latest), and VPS host – when updating plugins, some of the sites do the update right on the page, while others the plugin update opens a separate page.

Case in point – the Enable Media Replace plug-in was just updated, and on some client sites it updated in-place, and for others, it went to a separate “Updating…” page that I had to click through to get back to the plugins page.

I could not find a reason for the difference in behavior – any tips on why plugin updates are not behaving consistently?

(Again – same WP version, theme, site architecture, and VPS host!!)
