Plugin updates fail with: Update Failed: 405 Not Allowed 405 Not Allowed nginx/1

  • I have just updated to 4.6.1 and the several plugins I have won’t update to match. All give this error:

    Update Failed: 405 Not Allowed 405 Not Allowed nginx/1.10.1

    The site is at a shared hosting server (linux based). Never had this issue before? Plugins are

    Fast Secure Contact Form
    Google Analytics by MonsterInsights
    TinyMCE Advanced

    Oh – and 10 minutes later all updated peacefully. Can anyone explain what the error meant?
