• Hello to all,
since about a month, when there are plugin update notifications, I go on the update plugin page and I run the updates. Everything seems to be fine (messages are shown about downloading, etc…) and in the end “update completed” message is shown.
I go back to the dashboard and the notifications are back there.
I tried disabling all the plugins and run an update with all plugins disabled but without success. Same problem.
    I have WordPress 4.0.
Anybody ever had this issue? What should I check?
    Ciao
    Tiziano

    To add some details:
I used Installatron through CPanel to install WordPress on my hosting and for some time it was stuck at version 3.9.2 while I updated WordPress at version 4.0 through WordPress admin dashboard.
Could there be some conflict between the two?

After randomly looking on the Cpanel file explorer, I found out that plugins *do* get updated, but the new files are saved to another directory path.

    To be clear:
All the WordPress installation is in

    /home/*mysite*/public_html/ ….

while the updated plugins are stored in

    /home/*mysite*/home/*mysite*/public_html/ -> /wp-content/plugins/

    Basically the /home/*mysite*/ appears twice.

I tried to check the wp-config.php but I found no interactions with the plugin updates.

The provider is not answering helpfully so far and I am starting to think that they changed something in the server configuration, because until this issue appeared, everything worked fine.
    Can anybody help me?
