Plugin Updater Requiring FTP credentials

Great. That got rid of the FTP part. Unfortunately it’s giving me this error now:

Unpacking the update…
An error occurred while updating GDPR Cookie Compliance: Could not create directory.

I tried it on another site and it gives a similar error for the wordpress update

Download failed.: Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.

I’ve checked the permission of the folders and the permissions are 755
