I updated the WP Total cache plugin. When I opened the dashboard to check if the update had been successful I had been thrown out of the admin dashboard and and had this error message –

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /usr/www/users/innerpz/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

There has been a critical error on this website.”

I have deleted the plugin and the files mentioned above, have spoken to my webhost. They suggested that I restore my backup which I have done but am still not able to access wp-admin/ wordpress dashboard.

I have read through similar problems e.g to delete db.php. That has not helped.

This is the first time I have not been able to recover from a problem. Please help.

Restored back up again and have managed to get back into wp admin. BUT should not have had to spend the past 2 hours figuring this all out

Has there been an update to the plugin in the past couple of days. Do not want to spend another 2 hours fixing my website. IF there has then will run the plugin up date. Bit wary to do it now. So far its worked well.

    Hello @robyn2020

I am sorry about the issue you experienced and I am happy to help.

The last update was 6 days ago. If you have the previous version installed, please disable Page Caching Object Caching and DB caching, and manually delete advanced-cache.php, object-cache.php, and db.php Update the plugin and re-enable the disabled settings.

Let me know if you continue to experience the issue.

    Thanks!
