Plugin update has caused critical error – no access to wp-admin
-
I updated the WP Total cache plugin. When I opened the dashboard to check if the update had been successful I had been thrown out of the admin dashboard and and had this error message –
“W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /usr/www/users/innerpz/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
There has been a critical error on this website.”
I have deleted the plugin and the files mentioned above, have spoken to my webhost. They suggested that I restore my backup which I have done but am still not able to access wp-admin/ wordpress dashboard.
I have read through similar problems e.g to delete db.php. That has not helped.
This is the first time I have not been able to recover from a problem. Please help.
