Plugin update crashes site

    Hi there,

    This has happened a few times: when I update the uncanny learndash plugin my entire site crashes and I get the error message:

    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home2/tanjasha/public_html/wp-content/plugins/uncanny-learndash-toolkit/uncanny-learndash-toolkit.php on line 29

    I’ve had my developer get things back up and running a few times, but the problem keeps repeating.

    what steps do I need to take?

    You’re using an unsupported and very old PHP version. However your developer is fixing it probably isn’t a good idea; get your PHP version updated. 7.2 is recommended.
