plugin update and installation failure

  • Cannot update any plugins – receive message:

    Update Failed: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN”> 500 Internal Server Error Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Also cannot install a new plugin. Uploaded a plugin with ftp and it did not appear in the installed plugin section of the back end.

  • Those errors are from 5 years ago?
    Your site is still working, so delete whatever plugin you uploaded (it might be only partially there) and see how it behaves after that.
