I am guessing there is something I need to do and I hadnt previously noticed but other than the main blog all other sub-blogs do not seem to be activated properly.

The settings is as it should be, I have ticked for all buttons to be included. Even the excerpt area appears in the post edit area. But the buttons do not.

The main blog is working fine hence my not having noticed. Not sure if it is important but I tried on a network basis activate and an individual site activate with no difference.

    All the best,

  • Hi Andy,

Set it up on a network basis and activate it for all sites. Then you will need to go to the Ultimate TinyMCE settings for each of those sites and set it up the way you want. Not all sites have to have the buttons set up the same way, so set them up however you want for the particular site.

ronbme. Yes sorry I wasnt clear.

This applied to the subsites the main blog is working fine. Of course I also did this for the main site.

Having done this on the subsites the edit area of the subsites are not showing the buttons.

    Hi Andy,

I would definitely try disabling your other plugins, one at a time, to see if one of them is causing the problem. Make sure you also flush your browser’s cache.

    What theme are you using?

Ok I will do this as soon as I can, in the process of difficult migration of the site however at the moment. Didnt think it could be down to plugins if the main blog is functional. Currently all plugins installed are network wide activations.

Ugh… Migrations. I always cringe when I know I’m gonna have to do a migration!

    Keep us updated, Andy.

Hi, I am facing exactly the same problem with the buttons not showing up in the sub-blogs editor of a multisite after having done all the settings in the respective settings section. I have only two other plugins. One is a backup device to dropbox the other is polylang, a translator plugin which I cannot deactivate if I do not want to lose all translations.

Okay, well, I designed Ultimate Tinymce so that NO modifications are made unless the user enables them.

So, I would go to the first sub-site where the editor is “broke”, and make sure that EVERY option on the Ultimate Tinymce settings page is UN-CHECKED.

Then, see if the content editor loads. If it does, go back and enable a few options at a time (checking to see of the editor breaks again). Basically, what we are trying to do is determine if one of the options of my plugin is interfering with your particular website configuration.
