[Plugin: Ultimate Coming Soon Page] Spam? User subscription without feed burner

    I am using this plugin merely as a landing page with no feedburner email registration. When you go on the url you literally only see a background photo and the link to seed pro. today, i got an email notifcation by WP of a new user registration for this site. the user is registered as subscriber. i do not know the email address nor is there any link for any visitor to register. the only possible link would be on my WP admin login page where there is an option to register instead of login in. I am confused about how this could happen. Are there any bugs in this plugin that could lead to such a circumvention?

    Hi,

    This is because you have your blog set to “Anyone can register” and unrelated to the plugin. Go to Settings > General and uncheck “Anyone can register”

    Hi John, thank you for your quick response. I will change the settings but the reason I was surprised is because my Coming Soon Page is active with no email subscription option. So while my blog might be set to these settings, how can visitors access this option when they should only see the Coming Soon Page?

    The Coming Soon Page is only displayed on the frontend of your website. The part where you see your theme and not on the registration page. So if you have your blog set to anyone can register, spammers can still get to the registration page.
