[Plugin: Types] only posts with status "private"

Does WordPress allow to restrict certain post types to ‘private’ status? I thought that you need to do this manually, per item.

Can you refer me to the codex page that talks about how to force all posts of a certain type to be private?

But just leaving everything as private by default.
