[Plugin: Twitter Tools]Double and quadruple tweets of my blog posts

    I have just launched a new blog and new twitter account.
    Twitter Tools is tweeting my blog posts to my Twitter account.
    On the first day, 9th July, almost everything went fine. Tweet and blog post were one on one. But the full permalink URL was tweeted instead of the bit.ly URL.
    The next blog post on the 12th of July was double tweeted, but at least with the bit.ly URL on both occasions.

    Today, 13th July, I have a blog post which was quadruple tweeted. The first 3 times with the long permalink URL, and the fourth time with the bit.ly URL.

    The wrong URL format, makes me believe that the problem is with Twitter Tools. But the fact that my tweet count (in the sidebar of my Twitter account) still shows the correct total number of tweets, makes me believe that the problem is with Twitter. I can see 18 separate tweets, but the Tweet counter shows 14. The difference is exactly the 4 excess tweets.

    What do you think Twitter Tools, Twitter, or both?
