Should improve error handling, as rest of sidebar and WP footer not loading if Tumblr does not load.

Author was informed a while back but asked for “donation” to fix.

Are you using the latest version? This was fixed in version 1.1, released in February. Has the error reoccurred in the current version?

Also, did I really ask for a ‘donation’? If I’ve found the right email exchange, I quoted you a price for an immediate fix and another feature you were interested in.

Yes, latest version. The page stops loading. I now have another issue that the plugin keeps loading demo.tumblr.com content, even though all other parameter changes are visible immediately.

May have misunderstood you on the donation, but that’s how I recall it.

Looks like that error crept back in with 1.4. It should be fixed in 1.4.1, just posted.

From my email to (I believe) you, Jan. 28: “If you’d like a custom version that would allow you to use two Tumblrs on the same page (and that fixes that bug on loading), I could put it together in the next few days for something like $100. Let me know if you’re interested.”

I work on this plugin as my schedule allows. I try to fix bugs as quickly as possible, but feature requests usually have to take a back seat to paying work. Hope that’s all right with you.

I should add: I think the demo.tumblr.com problem is a caching artifact: you’ve got content from the demo Tumblr in the widget’s cache. This cache will be overwritten as soon as you load another valid Tumblr. So something’s not working with whatever Tumblr address you’re trying to use: either the address is incorrect, or Tumblr’s servers aren’t providing the content (something that happens on and off.)

Yes, but the plugin isn’t giving me any indication that it cannot load the tumblr content due to bad address or otherwise, so I cannot troubleshoot it. I have tried many times to update settings, delete widget, replace plugin, eventually it worked. anyway, thanks for the attention.

PS: yes, I remember you asked for a fee to extend the plugin for two tumblrs, but IIRC you also declined to work on the load bug/error fix even after I said the two tumblr feature was not so important to me. never mind, thanks anyway, it does all I want now.

New version now flushes the cache when you change the Tumblr URL.
