Wordfence Plugin triggering fatal error

    When visiting our website a couple of days ago, this is all that was visible:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /home/XXXXXXX/public_html/wp-content/wflogs/rules.php on line 115

    I was able to access the back end using cPanel and removed all wordfence files which put out website back on the air. But when I have since tried to reinstall and activate wordfence, I get this:

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /home/XXXXXXX/public_html/wp-content/wflogs/rules.php on line 115

    Why is this happening, how can I fix it??
