Hi, I have WP 3.1 multisite (subdomain) and Buddypress 1.2.8 installed on my site.

When I installed the total widget control and activated it network wide, WP gave me weird network admin page where I appear to be logged out and it was virtually empty except some dashboard menu. Since I lost my network control, I couldn’t disable or delete the plugin from the admin page.

When I went to widget menu in one of the site (site1) admin page in the network, the widgets had add button to add them to the sidebars so the plugin itself was installed and activated successfully somehow.

But when I disabled the plugin from the site1, the widget page didn’t go back to the normal wordpress drag & drop widget control. So, I deleted the plugin file using FTP which gave me back the normal network admin page but the widget page still looks and acts as though the plugin is still active as if somehow the plugin changed the widget page permanently.

So I reinstalled the wordpress but even that didn’t change back the widget page.
Could you help me please? I just want my default drag and drop wordpres widget control back.. Thanks in advance.

    Kalp,

Sorry you had a problem. TWC has not broken, it’s just does not support multi-sites yet. We are working with a couple users right now to get it there, but it probably will not be available for a couple more weeks.

As for turning of the ADD button so that widgets are dragable again. This is actually a built in option in WordPress. Inside your admin go to wp admin > appearance > widgets and select the screen options tab in the top right. Inside you will find an accessibility mode. Just turn that off and you will be good to go.

Also in the future, if you have another problem where a plugin does not un-install for you. You can simply change the name of the plugin folder under the plugins directory and it will force deactivate the plugin for you.

    Hey Kalphabet!

I just finished launching 1.6.13 which is compatible with WPMU.

I just installed v.1.6.13 though, and experienced precisely the same thing as kalphabet did. I’m on WP 3.1.1, multisite (editing the parent site).

This plugin is precisely what I need, and I’d be willing to pay for it (tried looking for the rumored “pro” version, couldn’t find anywhere to buy it.

    Any help?

Its all included in this one plugin. The licenses activate the pro features.

rclind, is there any way that I could use your wpmu stack to get this bug resolved? As I’ve got no problems on my dev setup, which is wpmu with domain mapping.

Ok, I setup a second dev site as a fresh 3.1.1 wpmu install and found the bug. TWC is WPMU compatible. Version 1.6.14 is running on 5 WPMU sites that I know of.

I’m uploading the tag right now. check it out and let me know the results.

Anyone know the results of this exercise. I have exactly the same problem, hoping it will work with multi-site.

OK, so I just downloaded 1.6.1.4 and installed in 3.1 with multi-site. The plugin will work with pages, however when you choose a page by checking the box in the widget area, the widget doesn’t retain the ‘checked box’ and so you can’t tell if it’s active on a page or not. Still testing but this is what I’ve found so far.
