[Plugin: Top 10] Extremely high post count in 24 hours

I added a new post to my blog yesterday and this morning it was the most popular post with a count is 2,581. The previous top post has only 917 and it has been on the site for months. I checked visits to my site with Google Analytics and I only had about 100 visits yesterday, which is typical. So I don’t know why the post count would be so high for this new post.
Any ideas?
