Plugin to make a photo gallery on a post

I have wordpress set-up on my own server and have ftp access.

I can upload photos one at a time, or via ftp and have also installed the ‘Add from Server’ plugin. This is my preferred method.

So I am writing a post and want to add a photo, easy, no problem. Do it often.

But on this occasion I want to make a post which is a photo album. I have tried a few plugins, but they made albums/galleries from external accounts like flickr, or make a one time only gallery.

I want to be able to choose 60+ photos to display as thumbnails, 3 columns, on several pages of my post. Clicking a photo will load the photo on a lightbox or what have you.

I use zenphoto on a non wordpress site, but was hoping for something that streamlines with wordpress and easily incorporates a one-off gallery.

I use Flickr Highslide in a different scenario and would like to emulate the similar results, from my own server and with the ability to have multiple galleries.

Ideally I would be able to browse to the upload folder and choose which photos to add to gallery, or even add a whole folder.

So, can anyone recommend the suitable plugins, or method I can achieve this?
