Plugin to control styling of alternate posts?

  • I’m trying to create child themes that modify the parent template files as little as possible.

    One thing that I’d like to do is control the styling of alternate posts. I’ve found links like this one describing how to make the changes directly in the php templates and I’ve successfully done so.

    However, I’d like to know if anyone has created a plugin that adds this functionality so that I can leave the template files “as is” for protection against future theme upgrades.
