  • WordPress does not allow you to change username but you can change the user password if you are an administrator.

    To change the password, you can either;

    1. Send a password reset mail from your Admin dashboard to the user

    2. Set the new password directly.

    All the above 2 options can be done by logging in to your dashboard >> Users >> “Username” >> Edit

    Hope that helps

    Hi Tunde Sanusi,

    Thanks for your advice.

    It is possible changing login username and password on cPanel via phpMyAdmin. However the steps are not simple straightforwards.

    On Internet searching I found WP plugin solely for changing password. I wonder whether there is a plugin for changing both?

    Regards

    Hello @satimis02

    Now I understand your query. Thought you earlier wanted to know how to change it directly from your WP Dashboard.

    I haven’t really come across a plugin that allows you do that (pretty sure, there will be one) but if you would not mind, could you try creating a new username and deleting the old username.
