Just installed plugin, went to settings, activate. Asks me to login and generate API key. I do so, paste API Key, timeout/502. Cannot get back to settings page without timeout.

The only way to get back to that page is to completely uninstall the plugin and start over.

Disabled Paypal Payments plugin as previously requested, that did nothing.

    Hello @mindtakerminis

the issue regarding the conflict with PayPal Payments has been resolved a long time ago, so this should not occur anymore.

The 502 error is a Bad Gateway error (The HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) 502 Bad Gateway server error response code indicates that the server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, received an invalid response from the upstream server).
Since we are not receiving any more of these same reports, I would think there might be another plugin conflict. I would advise seeing if the same issue occurs when you deactivate all other plugins (except for WooCommerce).

You might want to use a staging site in order to test this, so you don’t affect your live site.

Let me know what you find out.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

I painstakingly disabled every plugin except woocommerce one at a time in staging and the behavior was the same.

Does the API Key activation add do anything else other than verify? I have a fairly large database of 7000+ products and such.

Yeah, so I made a new dev copy and deactivated everything except Woo and this plugin and it still times out.

    Hello @mindtakerminis

yes, 7000 products must be the record of what I have seen so far with any of the merchants that encountered us, so it could be an overutilization issue. The sync process can be pretty intense on both Zettle and site hosting sides, but I have not seen this error occur. When I encountered an issue with big product libraries and the initial sync gets stuck, it usually helped to simply refresh the page and it would show different product numbers (excluding the products that were already synchronized), but it would continue synchronizing correctly to Zettle. Have you tried that?

Have you also checked the logs of Zettle and WooCommerce? Maybe there is any indication of what is occurring there.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hello @mindtakerminis
The error is known to us but should do no harm to the synchronization. I was told some time ago that this notification would be removed from the plugin, but it seems this was not done (I am checking on this why this is).

Have you tried to attempt synchronization with a smaller library? Since I have not performed a synchronization with such a big library, I cannot speak out of the experience if this would work or not. Might be good to see if you run into the same issue. Again I would advise using a staging site to test this.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    (@mindtakerminis)

Joost, I can certainly try it on a smaller library but then it would not be useful for me as a plugin. I have this many products and need to be able to use them in my POS.

    Hello @mindtakerminis

If this is not related to the size of the library, we need to take a look at possible conflicts with other plugins and possibly the security of your hosting partner. The library size looks to me as the easiest thing to test.

It might also be good to take a look at the full logs and the system report, if you don’t want to share these on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here: https://zettle.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well).

Let me know how you want to proceed.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

Since we haven’t heard back from you, I’m going to mark it as resolved.
In case you’re still having problems, feel free to let us know!

    Thread Starter mindtakerminis

    (@mindtakerminis)

It’s definitely not resolved, but I don’t know that I can use the plugin if it is unable to load my product library. Thanks for your help.

    Hello @mindtakerminis

this is only something we can find out by you testing with a smaller library. If it works with a smaller library, then the problem is most probably a limitation of the hosting server. If you want we can support you on this, but you will have to let us know how you want us involved.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
