the wordpress plugin “Theme my login” trashed my entire theme, and replaced all the original wordpress install files with files Plastered with BY FROSTY.
In addition to not working, the plugin caused my links to stop working, I was not able to click on anything, including the nav bar page menu items.

Tried to log back in and get this big ugly great log in box/screen, and again it says powered by Frosty, or something stupid like that.

with a rating of around 80%,, which I belive all to be fake, again I say AVOID this plugin, it replaces all your admin .php files with “powered by frostey” garbage, and the only way to correct this vandalism is by reinstalling wordpress.

    Hi Jeff,
if you read any of my previous posts, you will see the test platform was a new, fresh install of WP 3.2.2 using an the Twenty Ten theme, version 1.2 and no other plugins were installed.

Today, tried again on a different server. Here are the details.
    Linux, Apache 2.2.15 PHP 5.2.13 MySql 5.0.92
WP 3.1 Twenty Ten 1.2 And guess what, NO errors. Not even the double Login Tab error. The one thing I did different on the other installs was to first upgrade to WP 3.2.2 before installing the Theme-My-Login plugin. And also clicked on the visit settings page, and saved the settings. All things considered, your plugin does not seem to be the cause. And why both previous installations seem to result in missing links on the Meta widget. Which I cannot explain, especially since your plugin was the only one installed on the 3rd completely clean installation.

The previous non Fantasico installs were immediately upgraded to WP 3.2.2 and I do not have a record of what version of WP was first installed, but they were new fresh installs, from a ZIP file.

Also, the previous server was recently updated with all the most recent versions of everything. So at this point I really don’t know what to think. I just know that 2 of 3 installations on the previous server had odd results. The main difference being Fantasico was used for 2 of the four installs, its the only thing I can think of.

In either case, I do apologize, as this remains unsolved and the issues are minor. I suggest this post be closed.

I had a problem with the “Log In” tab occasionally appearing more than once on the Nav Bar also. But other than that the plugin seems to work fine.

@vehicros – Your problem might be the Fantastico installation. It can be very unstable sometimes and cause all kinds of problems. Try re-installing an updated copy of WP manually.

I’ve used this plugin on 3 different sites, and everything is working perfectly on them. My main site, however, won’t show the Log In tab on the nav bar at all. ??

I absolutely HATE having to use the Meta widget, but unfortunately it’s my only option right now.

I guess I should note that when using the Meta widget Login, the theming works fine. I just can’t get the Login button up on the nav bar.

Plugin IS turned on, so if you want to take a look it’s at:

    WordPress version 3.4.2
    Plugin Version 6.2.3

@jeff Farthing – If it would help, I can set you up as an admin user on my blog so you can go in and look around. I’m sure it would be a lot easier for you. Maybe these are related, maybe not. I don’t know enough about PHP and similar to really be able to tell anything, based on what I’m seeing. The code looks peachy-keen to me and, like I said, I’ve used it on 3 other blogs and it works just fine. – Brad

Why would you post that in this old thread? Moderators, please?

after reading this review, not sure if I want to install “theme my login” now. Are there any other plugins out there similar to this one that have better reviews?

I used to use one years ago, but the developer abandoned the project. It basically wrapped your login, register, lost password, etc pages within your current theme, but I have not seen such a plugin since WP 3.0 series was released so. I mean it just scares people off to be taken to an admin area I’ve been told that before, discouraging users from wanting to register.

    thanks

you seriously ask for a alternative to theme my login in a theme my login thread, which is 9 month old by the way. And you could get an answer by just googling.

I wish I could say what I’m thinking.

Not to mention the fact that you apprently didn’t read the whole thread. If you did, you would know that what the original poster posted is entirely incorrect.
