[Plugin: The Piecemaker] Piecemaker won't display in page template

I tried using the short code and the php template code
<?php if (function_exists(display_the_piecemaker())) display_the_piecemaker(); ?>
Neither one works. The shortcode displays on the page rather than the piecemaker content, and the php code displays this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function display_the_piecemaker() in /home/nnnnnn/public_html/wp-content/themes/astound/frontpage.php on line 13
