Hey James. Thanks for reaching out. I would definitely suggest updating to the 2.0.5 code, since it does improve a number of issues related to the calendar’s overall performance/display. It may help resolve some of what you’ve noted here.

Unfortunately, though, we do have some known conflicts with Headway that won’t be resolved in this codebase. In general there is just too much of a difference between how Headway operates (which does appear to be outside of WordPress core and regular theme behavior) and how The Events Calendar operates. As a result we’re not even sure we can make it work, and if we could, it would take a significant rewrite that we’re not in a position to do at this time. We’re hoping that the templating changes we’ve planned for 2.1 will help on our end, and that future Headway releases will also allow for smoother integration (though that part is of course outside of our control).

I apologize that we couldn’t offer up more here. If you have any other questions or if I can elaborate here, please let me know and I’ll do what I can.

    Rob,

I think the update did the trick. It allowed me to use Headway to edit the calendar in with the Default Page Template. Before I could only use Default Events Template to view the calendar functionality with everything working properly except for the the one issue of the calendar month view drop down (to select a different month) not refreshing automatically.

With the update I can now use the Default Page Template and use Headway to add styles such as a background color so the calendar stands out against the wood background of the site. https://dev.lamoka.com/events/2012-04

I have one more question for you.

Is it possible to hack the Event List Widget so that I can add a scrolling feature? I need to keep the height constrained of the event display, but if there are more events I want to show on the list, the user can simply use a scroll bar in the widget to view the events that aren’t readily visible.

Please look at the Calendar of Events on the homepage: https://dev.lamoka.com/
I have several other websites I’m slated to design and I’d like to use the plugin. If the premium plugin will do the trick I will pay for it gladly.

I can hire a programmer if the php code can be further customized. On the widget itself it does say:

“If you wish to customize the widget display yourself, see the file views/events-list-load-widget-display.php inside the Events Premium plugin.”

Just need to know if it’s even doable.

Thanks for your response, and look forward to your answer to this next question.

Hey James. Excellent to hear you’ve had some luck with the update! Always great to hear of a fix as straightforward as that one.

Regarding your newer question: you can indeed customize the events-list-load-widget-display.php file. In fact that message there is wrong (and because you brought it up we’re going to change it for the next release). That file is actually in the free release; PRO has it’s own list widget that can also be modified, but that’s called events-advanced-list-load-widget-display.php. I’d say give it a go in the free release and let me know what it yields.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you’re still having any issues and I’ll do what I can to assist.

I’m using the Event Calender 2.0.6 and the drop down month menu is by default to set January.. I want the current month (May) to appear.

    Thanks.

Hey Shawn. By default the plugin should show the current month; is it possible another plugin is conflicting here? Have you tried the deactivation route (for both plugins and the theme)? Let me know if so and if it still persists from there, we can keep looking into this for you. Thanks for your patience so far.
