[Plugin: The Events Calendar] Help with formatting issues in list view please

Hi there, i’m gradually getting my head around this plugin and it seems terrific so far.
However i’m having some issues with the formatting in the list view.
There is unusual spacing and text sizing that I havent been able to resolve yet, no matter what I try. I think i’ve come to the limit of my knowledge.

I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to figure out a fix. I’ve inlcuded a screen shot demonstrating what the issues are. https://img9.imageshack.us/img9/6892/formattingk.jpg

The sizing and spacing seems to be quite awkward and no matter what I do I cant fix it, or make any real different (bad or worse) at all.

Secondly, how can I add a “read more” link into the post so it doesnt keep pushing the description section down on the list view. I saw this demonstrated in the official screenshots, but I cant get it working myself.

Can anyone help me at all? The code for the list view is pretty standard, but i’ll post it up if it helps.
I appreacited any help I can get.
