[Plugin: The Events Calendar] formatting and add thumbnail to excerpt

Love the plugin. But one thing frustrates, the lack of control over extract.

When we write an Event there are two things we try to do the excerpt that the plugin does not allow. In the Post we put a thumbnail and, also we make the first line (location, date, time) bold text.

The event is then displayed as a Post on our HomePage. But the thumbnail is not displayed in that except, the bold formatting is gone and we cannot find where to edit the “more” link so it is the same wording as our regular Posts.

Where can we do those three things?
