• Resolved banishthem

I recently installed this plugin to a client’s website. I noticed that the plugin adds the calendar to the permalink example.com/events/. The website already had that permalink before the plugin was installed and of course the plugin replaced the contents of that page with the calendar when it was activated.

I deactivated the plugin and deleted it to see if the original events page content would show back up but unfortunately it didn’t. Instead, the URL example.com/events/ showed the home page content.

I was still able to access our event page content in the WP page editor but I had to change the permalink structure to /upcoming-events/ for the original event content to appear.

Any idea how to fix this so /events/ doesn’t display the homepage content after deactivating your plugin? The site uses the Utility theme by the way.

  • Hey banishthem. Thanks for the note; this is an odd issue that we should probably get sorted (I was able to recreate it on my end too). I’ve asked a dev to take a look – though at this point it may not be until Monday – to try and advise you. We’ll definitely work the patch into the next release; they should be able to advise you on how to purge it from the DB on your end too. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience so far.

Hey again banishthem. Have you tried simply flushing permalinks (resaving the permalinks page without making any changes) to see if that did the trick here? I just retested that on my end and it resolved the issue…can you confirm? Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to check in here, banishthem. Let me know if you’ve had a chance to test that suggestion in my last message. Thanks!

Yes, that did the trick. Sorry for the delayed response and thanks again!

I installed The Events Calendar (Modern Tribe) this morning.

I’m not seeing The Events Calendar on my events page. I have created two events and can view these two events individually.

But when I view the calendar it takes me to the events page on my website but there’s no calendar or events appearing there.

I’m wondering if the issue is with my permalinks but I’m not really sure. I flushed them as per the above posting.

When I checked the settings I confirmed that the Events URL slug is events-3.
When I checked the settings I confirmed that the Single Event URL slug is event.

If you have any ideas of why the calendar is not appearing that would be great.

    Thanks, Sandra

Awesome to hear that got you sorted, Banishthem. Thanks for the follow-up, and for your use of the plugin. Let me know if you need anything else down the road.

Hey Sandra, we can totally try and help you out here. But would you mind posting this in a new thread (since the core issue here is technically resolved already)? Thanks in advance!
