I switched my site to a custom permalink structure (category/%category%/%postname% for categories), and now none of the links in The Events Calendar work! The previous and next month links, the dropdowns, the Event List and Calendar buttons … everything’s broken.

I tried changing trailingslashit as suggested here, but no dice.

I’m using WordPress 2.9.2 and The Events Calendar 1.6.2.

My site is at https://www.plus1gaming.com. The calendar is set up as a custom page template, but it doesn’t work from category archives, either.

Edit: Here’s the category archive link: https://www.plus1gaming.com/category/events/

  • Hi,

Are you able to restrict your custom permalink structure to only legal WordPress structure tags? For instance, your custom structure would need to be /%category%/%postname%/ instead of what’s posted above.

You mean without the category base (/category/)? That’s how I had it originally. The Events Calendar actually added the /category base when my permalinks didn’t include it, so I added it in to try and resolve the issue.

It seems the problem is whenever the link adds something after the category URL (like /month). The gridview shows fine in the category’s main archive page, just the links are broken.

I switched off pretty URLs within TEC’s settings, and it at least works. I’d rather have it pretty, but this’ll do for now.
