• Hi,

I’ve been using TDOMF for a couple of months now and I’ve gotten it to the point where it’s functional for my purposes. Great tool!

The whole thing for me is that my users will no way no how be able to cope with the WordPress interface. They’ll burst into tears if they see it, and quickly leave my site.

For that reason, I had to hack into the WordPress core files so I could put the login page inside my website.

I’d like to avoid having to do the same thing to force the Edit Posts/Edit Profile and Personal Options pages to appear inside my website.

Essentially, you have already done the work for the Create a Post page, so basically it would just be a matter of repeating the same programming steps for the edit Posts/edit Profile and Personal Options pages, i.e. create widgets to approximate the fields on those pages. (Just guessing — there’s probably more to it than that.)

It would be a hella useful addition to TDOMF.

    Thanks.

  • I so want to start on post editing, especially with post revisions in WP2.6. However I’m simply bogged down in bugs, general support and minor feature requests (like wanting *every* widget to be a title).

The post editing shouldn’t be incredibily hard. Most of the existing widgets will need some sort of adapation to load up the settings from the post rather than default and there will be a new set of options required for forms that edit posts.

Editing the profile would be a bigger task. It’s one of those things, do I try and support every thing that can be posted/edited like comments, links, categories etc. or do I just stick to posts. Edit the profile though has some unique advantages and it would allow you to highly customise a user’s profile!

I agree that concentrating on the post content itself should e first on the line over profile setings… Having said That I’ve also had to hack the core Profile code, but custom fields can pretty much do all that the profile fields can I guess??

Two thumbs up for getting the edit post feature going ??

Any one willing to pool some $$ with me to get this feature to the top of the cue?

    Hi folks,

any update on this. I would be willing to throw some $, respec. € ?? to get esp. profile editing on frontend done.

    Leave a msg here.

    PB

Initial implementation of the editing feature now available. ??
