[Plugin: SyntaxHighlighter Evolved] regarding tabs in code

this plugin has one option that reads:

Use smart tabs allowing tabs being used for alignment

does that refer to code I copy from a proper editor and that has tabs in it?

as far as I can see there is no easy way to add tabs in the wordpress editor, right?
