The last reply there still stands. Everything here is open source and contributions are welcome. At the moment, no one has stepped up to contribute better search functionality for the plugin sub-forums.

Tip for plugin authors: Use evernote. Responding to duplicates is as difficult as copying and pasting.

Evernote, TextExpander, Alfred Powerpack, anything that can help you quickly insert common answers will be a life saver. ??

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

It is not certain that a general/plugin/theme-forum specific search box would actually resolve the issue, because there is no guarantee that anyone would actually use it. IMHO, a solution that would auto suggest similar topics while the users are writing the support request could stand a better chance of preventing them from posting a duplicate one. I did some digging in the bbPress plugin repository and it seems that the bbPress Live Topic Suggestions developers are doing that auto suggestion thing while the user is writing the topic title and, although I haven’t tested it and although I have no idea whether it would work well with a user base of the magnitude of these forums’ one, it does seem like a very good idea. And maybe most of the required code already exists in that plugin.

Excellent, would definitely be worth considering once we have these forums on the current code base, thanks!
