I have a site I’m taking over that I’m cleaning up. My security software has alerted me to several folders in the top-level /plugins folder that don’t show up as “Plugins” in the admin panel, and upon viewing some of the files within these folders, they appear to be related to this plugin – which I do have installed.

Are these just from an old version? examples:
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/assets
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/languages
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/lite
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/includes

    Can I safely remove these?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Yes, we don’t add the directories in the top level folder.

I know a while ago there was a hosting company that had a bug in the WP plugin installation where new plugins added could unzip at the top level like that, so that’s likely what happened there
