Plugin Stopped Working on my GreenGeeks Site
-
Hi:
My name is Orlando Mergal. I use your “Easy FancyBox” plugin on my podcasting website [redundant URL removed]. This site is hosted with GreenGeeks.com. My theme (Catch Responsive Pro), plugins and WordPress installation are all up to date.
A couple of weeks ago my galleries stopped working. Instead of opening in a popup window the images open in a new page.
I tried all the traditional troubleshooting tactics. First I disabled half my plugins and left “Easy FancyBox” working with just the other half. That didn’t fix it. Then I disabled the the other half. Finally, I disabled all the plugins except “Easy FancyBox”. It still didn’t work.
Finally, I upgraded my theme (because I was running a 2019 version). It cost me $60 and “Easy FancyBox” still didn’t work. I also tried removing all my custom CSS. Still no joy, so I put them back.
Then I started suspecting my htaccess file or PHP.ini. However, these are matters that go beyond my comprehension, so I opened a customer service ticket with GreenGeeks.
After exchanging emails with 6 different Russians and explaining the same thing over and over (don’t you hate that?), they finally admitted that they had no clue what the problem was and suggested that I contact the authors of “Easy FancyBox”. In other words, they kicked the can down the road.
I’m convinced that the problem lives at GreenGeeks, because I tried several other gallery plugins and none of them worked either. But, like I said, I reached my point of incompetence. After all, I studied Business Communications in college, not computer systems.
Can you help please? I use your plugin on several of my other sites and I absolutely love it.
Best regards,
Orlando Mergal
