• Hi,

We are using 3.9.3 on a BuddyPress 4.40 site. After updating BGES and completing the data migration, the plugin is no longer sending emails when new posts are published in groups. All other BuddyPress emails that aren’t reliant on the plugin work fine.

We do not use any SMTP plugins on the site as it’s never been necessary before. We are on the latest version of WordPress (5.2.2).

Any ideas what we should be checking? Thanks!

When you say that you updated BPGES, do you mean that you updated from 3.8.x to 3.9.3? Or were you updating from 3.9.x to 3.9.3?

Can you confirm whether the issue is happening only with immediate emails, or with digest emails as well?

Here are some initial troubleshooting tips for missing emails: https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-group-email-subscription/wiki/How-to-troubleshoot-missing-emails This should help at least to eliminate some common causes of problems. If you’re able to collect diagnostic data using BPGES_DEBUG, please share it here.

Thanks for the reply. We updated from 3.8 to 3.9.3. We had to do a 3-point manual migration process and that seemed to go smoothly. No errors that I could see.

Issue is with immediate and digest. Just anything tied to the groups.

I’ll check the tips, but do let me know if you have other ideas. This piece of the site is pretty vital to what we do.

    Thanks again! ??

    Hi again,

I see that there is an update to the plugin available. Will updating solve this particular issue or does it address something else?

I checked the trouble shooting link you sent but, as I’m not a developer, some of those tips are beyond my scope. I can tell you that, yes, end users are definitely subscribed in those groups. I also know that, with the exception of the update we did to 3.9.3, we’ve not changed anything else about the site.

    Hello again,

Any thoughts? We’d really appreciate any help you can offer.

    Hi,
Same problem here, interrested by a feedback.
    Thanks for your help

It seems than I resolved this point by saving the emails template in the “Emails” section of the backoffice

    @mathieu75

Can you explain in further detail please?

I went to the Emails section on the backoffice.
    Made a search with “GES”.
    Opened the 4 email template.
Save them by clicking on the “update” blue button.
After that, my notifications came back.
    Hope that help you
