So a couple of things, why is the plugin highlighted like it needs to be update, but doesn’t need to be updated? See screenshot here

When I tick the box and select update from the menu it says I have the most recent version. Obviously I don’t though as this is 1.9 and the newest is 1.10

UPDATE!! I tried updating from the install screen and got an update failed error. Screenshot below. Question, can I delete it and install from scratch without losing all the settings I already spent 15 minutes setting up?

And the plugin worked the 1st day I had it installed. Now, it shows the icon on website and if you mouse over or click a slide out says subscribe. But clicking it does nothing.

Also, on 2 browsers I subscribed the first day I installed it and it worked. But I have pushed a ton of content since then and get no notifications anymore.

    Thanks

  • Hey radioboy969,

These all sounds like separate errors. Let me try to answer each question in order:

    1. About the plugin highlighting like it needs to be updated, and the undefined update failed, that is very strange. It sounds like a WordPress issue; we have never modified the way we update plugins since the beginning and this is the first time I’ve heard about this error.

    2. To fix #1 though, it’s definitely safe to just remove the plugin entirely, deleting all the file contents. This will not delete your settings because they are saved to WordPress’ database. After you remove the plugin, you should be able to reinstall the plugin and your settings won’t be touched (provided you saved the settings first!)

    3. The issues you’re experiencing with subscription and our notify button aren’t related to our plugin, since our plugin loads our web SDK to enable push notifications. So glad there are no extra plugin errors!

Could you contact us on our support channel (click the red button on onesignal.com on the lower right)? I’d like to investigate the problem by asking you to run some JavaScript code in the console and seeing the output to find out why clicking subscribe does nothing. If you’ve successfully subscribed, unless your browser data has been cleared, you should remain subscribed.

We have the fastest response time on our on-site support chat. Be sure to mention this thread!
