• The current version of the plugin – 3.3 – breaks the rss feed if the “red Herring” option is enabled.

I am working on a fix that will prevent this.

If you need the feed for things like networkedblogs then uncheck this option. Personally, I don’t worry too much about RSS users because they do not get the advertising and are often other websites stealing content.

The Red Herring option is now accounting for about 75% of all spam detected, so I will keep it turned on. I am stopping about 800 spammers a day on my websites, so Red Herring is stopping about 600 of these.

The current Beta fixes the issue. If you are adventurous, you might try to download the current Beta at: https://www.blogseye.com/beta-test.php

This zips up the plugin’s directory in my WordPress installation, so you get whatever I am working on at the moment.

Currently testing a way to check the time it takes for the spammer to fill out the form. If it is under 5 seconds then it is too fast and can’t be human. I fixed a problem with caching plugins, but I am still looking for a better solution. I think that I might try a JavaScript solution, but that would only work with spammers that do JavaScript.
