Plugin started making WooCommerce Shop Page load incorrectly
-
I need assistance with getting my Variation Swatches for WooCommerce plugin to be able to be activated and still have my WooCommerce Shop Page function correctly.
On December 26th my WooCommerce Shop Page started loading incorrectly and responding erratically (see details below). I held a series of tests, where I deactivated plugins until I could identify the source. I found out that the errors only occur when I have the Variation Swatches for WooCommerce Plugin activated and go away when I deactivate it. I’m surprised to see this happening given that I have been using this plugin since November. I currently have the plugin deactivated until we can resolve why this is happening and I can start using it again.
Issue Details:
My WooCommerce Shop-Page appeared to have stopped loading mid-page. It said it was displaying 12 of 554 results, but it was only displaying 3. Later that increased to 5 and then 6, but no more. Most functions either didn’t display, didn’t work, or worked erratically (see below). The three items that were working were 1) Adding a product to the cart, 2) Clicking on the product to open and view the product detail page, and 3) Clicking on the product to edit it as an Admin. All my Category Product Pages function correctly, so I don’t know why the Shop Page did not.
- Map: Didn’t display
- Filter on Radius: Tried to work. Loaded a new page, but it all displayed the same.
- Shop Filter: You could click on it, but it didn’t open any filters to view.
- Product QuickView Button: You could click on it, but it took you to the top of the page.
- Wishlist Link: Didn’t display
- Compare Link: Sent you to the Home Page
NOTE:?While writing this, and using my Shop Filter on a Category Page, I found all the widgets gone from my Shop Filter. I added them back and they functioned correctly. This did not change anything with my Shop Page.
System Details:
- WP Version: 6.1.1
- WooCommerce Version: 7.2.2: Updated 12/22/22 and updated database 12/22/22 or 12/23/22
- Variation Swatches for WooCommerce 1.0.6: Updated 3 weeks ago when it came out.
- Elementor: 3.9.2: Updated 12/19/22 and database updated also.
- WCFM: Free plugins, plus Ultimate 6.6.7: Originally added in Nov 2022. Ultimate updated to 6.6.7 earlier this week, but after the Shop Page started having issues.
- Astra Parent Theme 3.9.4 & Astra Child Theme 1.0.0
- Astra Pro: 3.9.4
After each of the following updates, my system was tested and was working correctly, including the Shop Page.
- Variation Swatches for WooCommerce Plugin
- Elementor Plugin and Database
- WooCommerce Plugin and Database, the system
Sometime soon after the WooCommerce Database update, we saw that we needed to regenerate the Product Attributes Lookup Table, before using it because there was a failure or error of some sort. We regenerated that table and it said it was successful.
What Happened Prior to Shop Page Not Working:
From December 23rd to December 26th, we started adding a number of new products including ones with variations. I checked the Shop and Category pages to see if they displayed correctly and they did.
December 26th, I added the Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce Plugin.
Soon after that, I added a Product Tag Cloud to my Shop Filter page. I then went to my Shop Page and clicked on the Shop Filter. My Off-Canvas or Flyout Menu opened as expected. I clicked on one of the Tags and the page began to load. I believe this is when the error occurred. But I am not absolutely positive whether I went to one of the Category Pages, and then came back to the Shop Page to find it no longer working.
Troubleshooting:
- Removed Product Tag Cloud from the Shop Filter
- De-activated the Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce.
- Deleted Shop Page and re-generated via WooCommerce Status > Tools
- Deleted cache via LiteSpeed Cache – All Cache and Lite Speed Cache.
- Deleted cache from my Chrome browser.
- Systematically deactivated plugins until I found the error was caused by the Variation Swatches for WooCommerce Plugin.
Now I need your assistance to determine how to resolve this issue.
