• I hope this is the right place to ask about new features! I was really happy to find the short-code plugin for listing child pages, but was wondering if it might be possible to consider adding a function for showing the description of a page?

I’ve seen it done on another plugin (?) whereby each page has a custom field with key e.g. ‘s_description’ and e.g. ‘Table of exchange rates’ for the key value; and this value is pulled from the custom field and listed with the title of the page.

    Thanks ??

Thanks for the post, and checking out the plugin. I’ll have to take a look at this — I conceptually know what I’d need to do, but I’m not sure whether I could integrated it into the plugin easily without basically rewriting a built-in WordPress function (basically re-implementing listpages to support grabbing and outputting the custom field; I’d like to avoid that in order to be able to easily extend SR-ChildPages if the listpages function gets improved). But, I’ll keep this in mind for a future version.

    Cheers…Neil

    Hi Neil,

Thanks for your reply! Sorry to have proposed such a strange function. No worries at all – I can understand why you would want to make SR-ChildPages future-proof, because if I could develop plugins, then that would be a main concern too!

Hopefully listpages will incorporate this ability in the future to make it easier for you.

    Thanks again!
