You have to remove the max-width: 100%; rule from your style-minimal.css

That’s it indeed. I inspected the CSS several times, but somehow missed that one. I superseded the theme CSS at the page level, restoring the thumbs to their full glory! (cue dramatic music)

I was able to override the style with this:

img {
max-width: none !important;
}

This worked for me.

I added it to my style.css file.
