[Plugin: SoundCloud Shortcode] html5 player background color not changing

Same problem here with html5 and theme option.
When i use for exemple theme_color=ff0098, the theme remain grey.
Only flash works and i don’t really want to use it..

The html5 player doesn’t support background colours yet. We are planning on adding a dark theme in the future.

Thanks for the response. I posted that question 6 months ago. Hahaa… But seriously, please do add this functionality. Flash is on its way out! Is it hard to add a dark theme for html5 or is it just some CSS?

It is “just some CSS”, but we need to make sure it also looks good, and there is currently no design for it yet. It’s definitely on our agenda though.

Please let us take care of the “look good” ourselves. A dark theme is no good if the hex colour is set by a Soundcloud preset scheme. No good, seriously. All we need is the option to pick the background colour. Pretty please?

Has this been implemented to the plugin yet? The SoundCloud applications for mobile devices use a black theme. For whatever reason, though, they haven’t implemented this for the HTML5 widgets.

@vind – it hasn’t been implemented. Soundcloud developer blog stated this was in the works about 1 year ago. I have no idea why they and all the other widget options have stalled on this. I have many designers who do work for bands who will not move to Soundcloud because the HTML5 (therefore iOS friendly) embedded player cannot be cutomized to suit most designs on non-mobile browsers. Being stuck with white for a music player is quite a big misstep on Soundcloud’s part. It seems they want to brand the widget to look like Facebook & Google+ = which means alienating most of the band websites on the internet.
