So the inline buttons aren’t exactly what I want, so I uncheck all the boxes so they aren’t displayed.

however, when I do that, it also removes the alert box at the bottom — despite having those two boxes checked for the alert box

is there a bug that removes the alert box when the inline buttons are hidden?

  • Did you ever figure this out or get an answer? I am having the same issue.

    No, I didn’t unfortunately.

I ended up switching to custom code.

Yeah, its hard to customize. A shame since its much faster than AddThis.

I’ve found I can’t have the bottom-of-post “call to action” box on my homepage which shows a list of posts. It does show on individual post pages. I’ve tried all the settings. Guess its custom code time too.

This is a bug/poor wording on my part. I’ll try and fix this for the next release.

In “Socialize Settings -> Inline Button Display Settings” you need to show/hide the post types you want to use Socialize on in general and not just inline. So to have an alert box with new inline buttons on posts you would need to make sure posts was checked for both inline and action buttons. Then, in the default button settings or the posts themselves, you just uncheck all inline buttons. This will hide the inline buttons and still display the alert box.

I forgot to change the wording when I changed the functionality which cause the confusion. Sorry about that.

Right on, thanks for the follow-up Jon.
